Collaborative Partners

SARDI provides a leading point of contact for business and industries to initiate collaborative partnerships with diverse research providers- universities, research clusters, cooperative research centres and industry partnerships.

SARDI holds numerous joint agreements with leading research organisations, is involved in 12 Cooperative Research Centres and in initiatives including Marine Innovation SA (MISA), the SA Food Plan, and the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS).

Our collaborative approach is designed to enhance research performance to deliver high quality, reliable research solutions. 

SARDI's current partnerships include:

Cooperative Research Centres (CRCs)
The CRC program was established by the Federal Government to strengthen collaborative research links between industry, research organisations, educational instutitions and relevant government agencies. SARDI is involved in 12 of the Federal Government's Cooperative Research Centres.

Marine Innovation South Australia (MISA) (external site)
MISA is a partnership between SARDI, Flinders University, The University of Adelaide, the SA Museum, seafood industries and regional communities. MISA aims to position South Australia as a world-class centre for temperate marine science, education and industry development.

MISA focuses on four high priority research areas to support the ecologically sustainable development of SA fisheries, aquaculture and marine ecosystem industries:

  • seafood product quality and value-adding
  • aquaculture innovation
  • ecosystem services
  • biosecurity.

Research and Development Corporations
SARDI secures approximately 70% from research funding from rural industries research and development corporations and commerial receipts. Major sponsors of research include:

Primary Industries and Resources SA (PIRSA) (external site)
SARDI is the research arm of Primary Industries and Resources SA and is a major science provider towards South Australia's Food Plan 2007-2010 (.PDF). More information about SARDI's involvement in the SA Food Plan

As the South Australian Governments principal research organisation, SARDI also provides research services across Government. 

Riverlink (external site)
Riverlink is a network of five federal and state government horticultural research agencies, working collaboratively to deliver innovation to horticulture industries for the Sunraysia-Riverland Region. SARDI is a member of this network.
