The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) (external site)
The Bureau of Meteorology website is a fantastic source for information on current weather conditions and seasonal outlooks. It also has educational information on climate and weather systems and historical data and maps.
The Long Paddock (Queensland Department of Primary Industries) (external site)
The Long Paddock website is provided by the Queensland Government. Although it is focused primarily on Queensland there is some useful information relating to the whole of Australia.
The site provides El Niņo - Southern Oscillation (ENSO) information including links to a table of daily Southern Oscillation Index (SOI) values, a graph of the SOI and SOI phases for the past 3 years, and a summary of how the current SOI is likely to influence Australian climate conditions. This page also links into information on various climate risk management products developed in Queensland including Australian RAINMAN, HowWet and HowOften.
