Study Awards

AW Howard Memorial Study Awards for

Australian Grazing or Rangeland Extension Consultants, Advisers and Agribusiness Specialists; and

Australian Graziers or Rangelands Pastoralists


The Trust will biennially, or at a frequency determined by the Trust award the following grants relating to Australian Grazing or Rangeland Extension Consultants, Advisers and Agribusiness Specialists; and Australian Graziers or Rangeland Pastoralists:

Two new Specialist Study Awards:

  • Australian Grazing or Rangeland Extension Consultants, Advisers and Agribusiness Specialists; and
  • Australian Graziers or Rangeland Pastoralists 

Both of these Awards are aimed at study tours either in Australia or overseas to examine successful grazing systems and practices that are perceived to have economic, social and environmental benefits to Australian pastoral industries and rural communities.  They are aimed at promoting producer and adviser excellence & leadership.  The value of each Award will be up to $20,000.

Selection Criteria

Applications for the Study Awards will be competitively assessed by the Trust on the merit from a written application.

Successful awardees must in their Trust application demonstrate empathy for and a strong track record in pastoral extension, confirmed by two referee reports.

Applicants must have been continuously resident in Australia for the past 3 years or have permanent residency status in Australia.
