Example test sheet for duo-trio test. Note sample codes do not need to be printed when using paper test sheets, as the order of samples will be different for each assessor and they should be trained to write their codes as presented to them from left to right.

Duo-Trio Diffence Test

In this set, the left-hand sample is a reference sample (R); one of the other two coded samples is the same as the reference.

Please assess samples by smell and taste, and then circle the number of the sample that is the SAME as the reference (R).

Once you have picked the samples, please comment on the reasons for your response.

You may re-taste as often as you require.

Please pause and rinse your palate with water between each sample.

Example test sheet for paired comparison method. The test sheet could be printed in two formats with each sample code appearing in the first position as there are two serving orders for this test i.e. Wine A then Wine B, Wine B then Wine A.
