An SA Museum event on deep sea life, Journey to the Abyss, will feature a presentation by SARDI’s Associate Professor John Middleton on SA’s Southern Shelves and the dynamic physical drivers that make the region one of Australia’s most bountiful.  Professor Middleton will also explain how the $10M Southern Australian Integrated Marine Observing System (SAIMOS), which comprises cutting edge technologies such as underwater moorings, programmable marine gliders, acoustic curtains for tagged fish and HF Over the Horizon RADAR, is expanding our understanding of how oceanographic systems effect climate and climate change. http://www.sardi.sa.gov.au/aquatic/oceanography
