Parasite control in lamb flocks
In recent years the number of meat sheep raised under broad scale pivot irrigation systems in winter rainfall areas of SA has dramatically increased. The greatest constraint to the viability of this farming system is heavy infections with Trichostrongylus vitrinus, a problematic parasite.

Worms resistant to recently released drenches
Drenches play a central role in worm control programs and will continue to do so into the forseeable future.

Worm infections and cobalt deficiency in grazing sheep
Cobalt deficiency can impair the immune function of sheep adn this may increase vulnerability to infection with worms.
