The Integrated Biosystem has the potential to significantly reduce the environmental impact of our industries as well as contribute to environmental restoration and remediation. Below are just some of the many benefits the IBS can bring to our precious Australian natural environment:
- Less effluent contamination of our waterways and groundwater
- Safe recycling of water within agricultural facilities
- Lowering of Australia's agricultural water demand, which accounts for the majority of water use in Australia
- Lowering of wild fish catch for feed production through aquaculture
- Destruction of pathogens in effluent, preventing disease outbreaks
- Channeling of clean water back to the environment, ensuring future supply
