Crop Monitoring
A monitoring guide has been developed in the project that incorporates factors such as crop type, age, market destination and parasitism levels. For most crops, the level of pest infestation that the grower is prepared to accept is likely to vary depending on these factors.
This new monitoring guide constructs a tailor-made sampling plan for the growers particular scenario. 'How to monitor' is also included.
A free copy of the guide which links to Insecticide Resistance Management (IRM) strategies in each State as well as an insecticide toxicity chart and DBM development calculator can be found on the Department of Primary Industries Victoria website (external link).
The work is a collaboration between SARDI and the Department of Primary Industries Victoria.
