Innovative Food and Plants Research Division
SARDI plays a major role in the Food Innovation South Australia cluster which focuses on value-adding for South Australian industries. SARDI leads the effort with its expertise in food safety, export access and value-adding in the plant and marine science sectors.
The Innovative Food and Plants research division assists South Australian food sectors by identifying and developing new products and technologies for foods, ingredients and other plant products that meet consumer and market access requirements including health and wellbeing, safety, nutritional quality, authenticity and environmental sustainability attributes.
The development of new products and technologies provide new opportunities for our food and feed sector partners.

Livestock and Farming Systems Research Division
The Livestock and Farming Systems research division assists the animal industries in the economic and sustainable production of high quality, competitively priced produce. The development and marketing of livestock industries and products and the provision of policy advice to government on animal issues, are two key objectives of livestock programs.
Livestock and Farming Systems programs include dairy, beef, sheep meat and wool, pigs and poultry.

Sustainable Systems Research Division
Sustainable Systems is dedicated to providing science-driven solutions that support sustainable agricultural production and promote the development of new environmental industries - all while protecting the valuable resource base which these industries rely upon.
Research platforms offer practical and productive ways to safeguard land and water resources and ecosystems, minimise the threat and impact of diseases and pests, optimise and enhance soil, water production systems, better adapt to a variable and changing climate and deliver technologies enabling agricultural industries to diversify into green business – including bioenergy, recycled organics and utilising saline water.
