Roles and expertise: Mr Skordas holds tertiary qualifications in Aquaculture, the Marine Environment and Fisheries Compliance. He is a certified commercial skipper and master SCUBA diver. Paul has over ten years experience in the aquaculture industry working in oyster production, and freshwater finfish hatcheries and growout facilities. Mr Skordas worked as an advisor on pond aquaculture of salmonids in New Zealand and was an aquaculture technician at Urrbrae Agricultural College in South Australia. When he first joined SARDI as a member of the Aquaculture Propagation & Systems Subprogram, he was the senior technical officer at the Waikerie Inland Saline Aquaculture Centre, Waikerie, South Australia, where he managed a semi-intensive system to investigate the production of mulloway using saline groundwater from a salt interception scheme. More recently, Mr Skordas he been an integral part of the R&D team supporting scientists undertaking larval rearing trials on yellowtail kingfish and southern bluefin tuna, projects that are part of the Australian Seafood CRC.
