Experience:
2003 - 2009 Science Leader, Mallee Research Station, Waleup. Leader of a diverse range of drylend agronomy research and development programs including: Pulse crops in low rainfall environments. Lucerne in high water-use farming systems. Identifying improved pasture species. Integration of pasture and livestock production in cropping rotations. Supervising a team of 15 research and support staff.
1996 - 2003 Senior Research Officer, Western Australian Department of Agriculture. Project leader in the RD&E of sustainable farming systems throughout the agricultural zone opf W.A. Supervisor of National Salinity CRC high water-use perenial based farming systems project. "High water-use farming systems that integrate crops in perennial pastures". The development of the initial concept in consultation management, funding bodies and associated research groups. Submitting successful proposal on behalf of wider esearch group. Supervising the research and administrative components and reporting to funding bodies.
International R&D collaboration with University of Wyoming since 1993 as a consultant to a "High Plains ley-farming project". Collaborative role in pasture plant improvement and agronomy projects in China (2000 - 2003).
