Roles and expertise: Mr Hawthorne has a Bachelor in science majoring in Fisheries Management and Aquaculture from Deakin University, Warrnambool. He specialises in scientific diving and research project management. Current research projects include puerulus settlement monitoring, on-board vessel catch sampling, fishery independent monitoring surveys (FIMS), fisheries bycatch and rock lobster translocation. He is currently completing an Honours degree with Flinders University focusing on translocated lobster health in relation to live transport simulations.
