Project and program leader for industry-funded grazing animal (sheep and beef cattle) research
Pasture-animal interface research
Ruminant (sheep & cattle) nutrition and production research
Saltland grazing and production systems

Experience:

2002-2006: National Research Leader for the Sustainable Grazing on Saline Lands (SGSL) initiative and sub-program leader within the CRC Salinity. Principal investigator for the South Australian research component of SGSL.
2000-present: Sheep Production Specialist, SARDI Livestock Systems, working on industry-funded projects in prime lamb production, meat science, saltland pasture production and animal (including cattle) productivity.
1996-2000: Research Scientist, CSIRO Animal Production, developing a vaccine against rumen methane producing microorganisms
1995- 1996: Meat Research Corporation Research Fellow studying the use of tagasaste (tree lucerne) in cattle grazing and finishing systems

Delivery of the “National Saltland Service”, an information delivery vehicle for the productive use of saline land from the CRC for Future Farm Industries
Genetic impacts on maternal productivity in variable temperate environments (CRC for Beef Genetic Technologies)
Satellite estimation of pasture growth rate in south-east South Australia (AWI and MLA funded)
Productive and sustainable salt tolerant pastures for South Australia (SGSL)
