Downy mildew is a weather driven disease, and is often management by applying eradicant fungicides after infection periods have been forecast. Metalaxyl is a very effective eradicant fungicide, however resistance has been reported in 2005 from some properties in the Hunter Valley Region in NSW. Work is underway in NSW to further investigate the problem.
